THE VILLA Villa Taticchi is living history, a family home, tranquility, discovery, authenticity.

A history spanning seven centuries. A warm welcome rooted in family tradition.

Villa Taticchi is not just a place to visit: it is a place to explore, to experience, to breathe in. It originated as a watchtower dating back to 1366, built to keep watch over the Tiber valley – named after the Tevere river – and warn the local population of the arrival of travellers or armies from the north.

From its medieval beginnings, the Villa has expanded over the centuries: the 16th-century hall, the 19th-century parlour and finally the 1930s wing, when Giuseppe Taticchi and Countess Maria Fulvia Chiericati gave it its present form.

For over 150 years, our family has lived in and looked after this place.

First a summer residence, then a permanent home, and later the heart of the family farm, the Villa became a guesthouse in the 1990s, thanks to the passionate work of Annabella and Cesare. With them, hospitality has become a way of life: kindness, attentiveness, a love of fine things, and attention to detail

Today, the Villa remains just that: an authentic residence, elegant yet informal, deeply rooted in its history and natural surroundings.

The rooms retain their original furnishings, the garden embraces the house with its expansive green spaces, and the River Tiber marks our natural boundary. Among the most precious items are Puccini’s authentic autographed scores and the portrait of Countess Maria Antonietta Chiericati Salvioni, painted by John Singer Sargent.

Our philosophy is encapsulated in the motto engraved on the central fireplace

Carpe horam. Seize the moment.

And, as another historic inscription in the Villa reads, Favente Deo

With God’s favour.
